Camp Curtin takes its name from the Civil War training camp that occupied this ground in the 1860s — the largest Union camp of the war. The neighborhood that grew on the site afterward is late-nineteenth-century rowhome Harrisburg at its most characteristic, centered on North Sixth Street.
