The roofer down the street
Our shop is at 1000 N Cameron St, in the industrial corridor between the rail line and the residential blocks that climb toward Sixth and Third. It is a working address in the 17103, and you can drive past it.
That matters more than it sounds. Roofing has a reputation problem in Central Pennsylvania and a good share of it is earned — after every significant hail or wind event, out-of-state crews work this county for a few weeks and move on. Some of that work is fine. Either way, there is nobody to call in year three when a detail needs looking at.
We are going to be selling roofs on the same blocks next year and the year after. That single fact shapes every decision we make on a job: whether we recommend a repair over a replacement, whether we tell you the truth about what an insurance claim is worth, and whether we come back to look at something that is bothering you.
We work on every kind of roof this city has. Flat rowhome sections in Allison Hill. Slate hips in Bellevue Park. Line-item estimates, always
Tear-off, disposal, decking allowance, underlayment, ice and water shield, starter, field material, ridge, flashing, ventilation and labor — priced separately so you can compare bids honestly.
Photographs of everything
Anything we find under your old roofing gets photographed before it disappears under felt. You see the rot, the wet insulation and the bad flashing yourself.
The price does not expire
No same-day-only discounts, no closer, no inflating a number so it can be dramatically reduced. Tuesday's estimate is Friday's estimate.
We say when not to buy
If your roof has five good years left, that is what the report says. We would rather write a repair invoice today than have a reputation problem on these blocks next year.

Pennsylvania contractor registration
Verify any contractor's Home Improvement Contractor registration with the PA Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection before you sign. We provide ours on request.
General liability insurance
Covers damage to your property during the work. Ask for a certificate naming you, sent directly from the insurer rather than a photocopy.
Workers' compensation
This one protects you. If an uninsured crew member is injured on your roof, the exposure can land on your homeowners policy.
Written workmanship warranty
Separate from the manufacturer's material warranty, and a verbal promise is worth nothing in year six. Get both in writing.
